Aircraft Noise Linked to Worse Prognosis After Acute Coronary Syndrome

Key finding(s)

After acute coronary syndrome, recurrent cardiovascular events were much more likely if patients were exposed to aircraft noise. Risks were higher than in population-based studies, suggesting patients with underlying cardiovascular disease may be at special risk from noise. Reducing such exposure could reduce incidence of repeat events.
