High levels of interleukin 37 (IL-37) are predictive of poor outcomes in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC).
Why this matters
IL-37 may have value as a clinically potential indicator for EOC progression and a prognostic marker for survival.
Serum IL-37 levels were evaluated in 76 patients with EOC and 76 healthy control patients at a single center; for patients with EOC, the association of IL-37 levels with clinical factors and prognosis was analyzed.
Funding: None disclosed.
IL-37 levels from patients with EOC were 187.3±75.57 pg/mL; this was 2-fold higher compared with those of healthy control patients (84.89±28.92 pg/mL; P<.001).
