High-dose folic acid tied to childhood cancer risk in offspring of women with epilepsy

High doses of folic acid are recommended in pregnant women with epilepsy to prevent congenital anomalies associated with antiseizure medications. However, a recent study found that prenatal exposure to high-dose folic acid is associated with an increased risk of developing childhood cancer.
