Physicians told that they would get information in December about whether they need to comply with requirements under the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) are still waiting 3 mo into the year, complains the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) in a letter to the federal government.
Why this matters
An estimated 30% of physicians are expected to be exempt from the MIPS requirements this year; those would be practices with less than $30,000 in Medicare charges or fewer than 100 unique Medicare patients per year.
